Plenty of space for the whole family
We are proud to look after a building with such a long-standing story in the village. Originally opened back in 1930 as the XL, this site once held the Guinness World Record for the shortest pub name in the country. Now, as a JW Lees pub, we are continuing the tradition of the Bellflower being a hub for the community. We are focused on making sure it is a space that is just as welcoming for a big Sunday lunch with the family as it is for a quiet pint by the fire.
Being part of a heritage family brewery means we take the bar seriously. If you are after a well-kept cask ale, we have always got JW Lees Bitter and our golden MPA on tap alongside our crisp Manchester Craft Lager. If you fancy something a bit different, we also pour small-batch beers from The Boilerhouse microbrewery, which are great for settling in with.
When it comes to the food, we keep it honest and filling. You will find all the classics you would expect, like John Willie’s beer-battered fish and chips, or our iconic Brewery tower burger, but Sunday is when we really get going. We are big believers that you cannot have too much of a good thing, so our roasts come with bottomless gravy and as many Yorkshire puddings as you can handle.
TUCK IN BESIDE THE FIRE
Our home-cooked seasonal dishes are perfect for cosy gatherings with friends and family in Garstang. Choose from delicious new dishes like Crispy fried spiced chicken thighs, Smoked bacon loin chop, Fritto misto and Roasted cauliflower. Also, not forgetting timeless pub classics and hearty winter-warming pies, you can expect plenty of choice when looking through our menus. From John Willie’s battered fish to Slow-braised steak & JW Lees ale pie, there’s a dish for everyone.
As the evening draws in, settle in with The Cosy Menu. From 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, enjoy 2 courses for 16.95 or 3 courses for 19.95. It’s all about those winter-warming plates. Think proper Sausages & mash, classic Steak frites, or a fragrant Keralan curry. Whether you’re catching up or just dodging the commute, it’s even better with a pint of JW Lees in hand.
Sunday is a day of roast. Our roasts come with bottomless gravy and unlimited Yorkshire puddings (because one Yorkie is never enough and good gravy should never run out). Nothing truly beats a proper Sunday lunch, and it’s even better without the bother of cooking and cleaning. Sit back, relax and tuck into our traditional Sunday roasts, served with all the trimmings.

A traditional family and dog friendly pub
We are located just off the A6, making us a handy spot to pull into, whether you are travelling between Preston and Lancaster or you have been out for a stroll through Garstang. We are only a short walk from the canal, so we often see people stopping in to refuel after a morning out with the family and the dog.
You can settle in next to one of our open fires with a well-kept pint of Bitter or a glass of wine, or if the weather is on our side, you can head out to the garden. We have a large veranda and plenty of outdoor seating where you can wrap up and just watch the world go by. Whether you are joining us for a full meal or just a quick break in your journey, there is always plenty of room to relax.

Our Brewery
As a JW Lees pub, we take plenty of pride in the beer we pour. We carry the full core range from our brewery, so whether you are after a classic cask ale like JW Lees Bitter or a cold pint of Manchester Craft Lager, we always have something fresh on the taps.
If you want to try something a bit different, we also host seasonal ales and small-batch brews from The Boilerhouse. This is where our brewers get to experiment with new styles and flavours, making it a great choice if you are looking for a new favourite. We have nearly two centuries of brewing experience behind us, and we ensure that every pint is kept and poured exactly as it should be.
